Habitat builds simple, decent houses in partnership with people in need in the community. Through donations of time, materials and investment, Habitat houses are sold to families at no profit, financed with affordable no-interest loans.

Habitat for Humanity International was started in 1976 as a non-profit, non-denominational faith-based housing organization. Since then, Habitat has built more than 200,000 houses in more than 79 countries. Founded in 1985, Habitat for Humanity Canada serves as a resource centre for 71 affiliates in all 10 provinces and two territories.

Habitat for Humanity Mississauga is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity Canada, which is a member of Habitat for Humanity International – the largest not-for-profit home builder in the world. The Mississauga affiliate of Habitat for Humanity was formed in 2005. Our mission is to ensure that every person in Mississauga has a decent place to live.
